SFA and Iliac interventions These two unique modules comprise a variety of virtual cases based on realistic 3D anatomies, created from CT/MRI images of real patients. The anatomies include different aortic bifurcation types, different iliac artery length and orientation, different locations of lesions (internal or external iliac, and proximal-SFA, mid-SFA, and distal-SFA), which vary in degrees, numbers and stenosis length. Trainees can choose either retrograde or antegrade access point according to their preference and the morphology of the vasculature.
Trainees can practice complete virtual PTA, SFA and iliac Stenting procedures, including crossing the aortic bifurcation using a crossover catheter. In addition, a bolus-chased angiography can be performed to assess the peripheral flow. They can also use a caliper to measure the lesion in order to select the desired size of the PTA balloon/stent.
